Inner Harmony When his brother was killed in battle, Brian Boru of Dal Cais made himself King of Munster and was the first ruler who could claim to be the High King of all Ireland. Brian Boru played the harp and founded the Bardic order. The 30-string harp, which has certainly become the national symbol of Ireland, almost certainly did not belong to Brian Boru.
