Strength and Courage Fionn is a legendary hero and mighty Irish warrior who possessed courage, strength and wisdom. As a lad, Fionn burned his finger while cooking the ‘Salmon of Wisdom’ for his Druid master Finegas. To cool the burn, Fionn put his thumb to his lips. In an instant all wisdom leapt from the Salmon into Fionn and remained with him. Fionn became leader of the Fianna, warrior guardians of Ireland’s High Kings in the 2nd century, after his victory over the fires at Tara. Fionn sleeps beneath the hills of Ireland with the Fianna.
